Job Overview

The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for driving regional sales and expanding the market presence of the company’s compressed air and gas generation solutions within the assigned territory. The role involves building strong relationships with industrial clients, dealers, and channel partners while identifying new business opportunities across manufacturing and process industries. The candidate will promote products such as reciprocating air compressors, screw air compressors, oil-free compressors, air treatment equipment, and PSA gas generators. This position requires understanding customer technical requirements and recommending suitable compressed air solutions to support industrial operations. The Area Sales Manager will work towards achieving sales targets, generating new leads, and converting inquiries into successful business opportunities. The role also includes strengthening distributor networks, managing key accounts, and coordinating with internal technical and service teams. Through effective market development and relationship management, the position will contribute to expanding the company’s industrial presence and long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive regional sales growth and expand market presence for compressed air systems, gas generation solutions, and related industrial equipment within the assigned territory.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across manufacturing, engineering, pharmaceuticals, packaging, and process industries.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industrial clients, OEMs, dealers, distributors, and channel partners for long-term business growth.
  • Promote and sell products including reciprocating air compressors, screw air compressors, oil-free compressors, air treatment equipment, PSA gas generators, air piping, and pneumatic tools.
  • Understand customer technical requirements through site visits and recommend suitable compressed air and gas generation solutions.
  • Conduct market mapping, lead generation, and business development activities to create and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets through effective territory planning, forecasting, and execution.
  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and negotiate orders while focusing on value, pricing, and profitability.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation to order closure and post-sales follow-up.
  • Develop, train, and strengthen distributor and dealer networks to improve regional coverage and sales performance.
  • Monitor distributor performance, resolve channel conflicts, and ensure effective coordination within the network.
  • Manage key accounts by building strong relationships with purchase heads, plant heads, and maintenance teams.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities including spare parts, services, and system upgrades.
  • Coordinate with internal technical, service, and operations teams for smooth execution, installation, and after-sales support.
  • Conduct product presentations, technical discussions, and demonstrations for clients and partners.
  • Perform market research and track competitor activities, pricing trends, and industry developments.
  • Analyze sales data, prepare reports, and provide regular updates on pipeline, forecasts, and performance.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as marketing and product teams to align strategies and improve customer offerings.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on inquiries, proposals, and customer requirements to improve conversion rates.
  • Represent the company professionally in client meetings, industrial visits, exhibitions, and business interactions to enhance brand presence.

  • Strong industrial sales and business development skills in capital equipment and engineering products.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of compressed air systems including reciprocating, screw, and oil-free compressors, air treatment equipment, and PSA gas generators.

  • Proven expertise in B2B consultative sales, including lead generation, opportunity qualification, and closing high-value deals.

  • Experience in key account management with ability to build long-term business relationships and ensure repeat business.

  • Strategic thinking with strong market research, competitor analysis, and territory planning capabilities.

Experience
Minimum 4 to 7 years of experience as an Area Sales Manager / Sales Manager / Sales Engineer / Relevant in Industrial Sales, preferably in Compressed Air Systems / Gas Generation SolutionsCapital Equipment. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business development within assigned territories. Experience in handling industrial clients, OEMs, dealers, and channel partners. Strong exposure to technical sales, solution selling, and key account management also in managing distributor networks and expanding market presence. Familiarity with manufacturing and process industries will be an added advantage. Willingness to travel extensively for business development and client meetings. Strong experience of industrial equipment, engineering concepts, and technical sales on priority.
