Job Overview
- Prepare detailed civil, architectural, and structural drawings for high-rise residential and commercial projects, including plans, sections, elevations, layouts, and construction details.
- Develop working drawings, GA drawings, GFC drawings, shop drawings, reinforcement details, and as-built drawings as per approved designs and site requirements.
- Convert architects’ concepts, sketches, and engineers’ calculations into accurate 2D and 3D CAD/BIM drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, or similar tools.
- Prepare RCC and steel detailing for slabs, beams, columns, shear walls, cores, foundations, podiums, and other high-rise structural elements.
- Coordinate closely with architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, interior designers, vendors, and project managers to ensure clash-free and fully integrated drawings.
- Modify, revise, and update drawings based on design changes, site conditions, RFIs, client inputs, and approval comments, maintaining strict version control.
- Ensure all drawings comply with local building bye-laws, NBC norms, fire and safety regulations, environmental standards, and internal quality guidelines.
- Incorporate sustainable and green building features such as rainwater harvesting, solar integration, daylighting, ventilation, and energy-efficient materials into drawings.
- Maintain high accuracy in dimensions, levels, tolerances, materials, and specifications to reduce site errors and ensure premium finish quality.
- Assist in preparing drawings for statutory approvals, tenders, BOQs, quantity take-offs, and construction execution support.
- Maintain organized digital and physical documentation, including drawing registers, revision histories, and project archives.
- Support site teams by providing technical clarifications, enlarged details, coordination drawings, and updated drawings during construction.
- Conduct occasional site visits to verify measurements, understand execution challenges, and ensure design feasibility on site.
- Prepare presentation drawings, basic 3D views, and annotated plans to communicate design intent to internal teams and premium clients.
- Use CAD systems efficiently to create, store, revise, and issue drawings electronically while adhering to project timelines.
- Collaborate with engineers and project stakeholders to resolve design discrepancies and ensure smooth execution of high-rise projects.
- Ensure timely delivery of all drafting outputs while maintaining quality, precision, and compliance with project standards.
- Expert proficiency in AutoCAD for detailed 2D civil, architectural, and structural drafting.
- Working knowledge of Revit, Civil 3D, BIM tools, and exposure to SketchUp or similar 3D visualization software.
- Strong understanding of RCC and steel detailing for high-rise residential and commercial buildings, including shear walls, slabs, beams, columns, cores, and foundations.
- Ability to prepare working drawings, GA drawings, GFC drawings, shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings.
- In-depth knowledge of technical drawing standards, symbols, conventions, scaling, dimensioning, and annotations.
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and convert architectural sketches, structural designs, and engineering specifications into accurate construction drawings.
- Good understanding of high-rise construction methods, materials, and site execution practices.
- Knowledge of local building bye-laws, NBC norms, IS codes, fire safety regulations, and statutory approval requirements.
- Familiarity with sustainable and green building practices, including IGBC or LEED guidelines.
- Ability to perform quantity take-offs and support BOQs or BOM preparation from drawings.
- Experience in coordinating drawings with architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, interior designers, vendors, and site teams.
- High attention to detail with strong accuracy in dimensions, levels, tolerances, and specifications.
- Strong documentation skills, including drawing registers, revision control, and organized digital file management.
- Problem-solving ability to identify design clashes, discrepancies, and practical buildability issues.
- Good communication skills to clearly explain drawings and technical details to engineers, contractors, and site staff.
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple drawings, revisions, and tight project deadlines.
- Basic understanding of BIM workflows and coordination principles, including clash awareness.
- Analytical and spatial visualization skills to manage complex layouts, grids, and multi-level high-rise designs.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently, accept feedback, and maintain quality under pressure.
