Job Overview
- Understand client requirements for infrastructure projects like metro stations, airports, hospitals, educational institutions, corporate offices, and public buildings.
- Translate project briefs into innovative and practical interior design solutions aligned with functionality, aesthetics, and project objectives.
- Develop conceptual and detailed design presentations including mood boards, sketches, 2D layouts, and 3D renderings using AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Lumion, or similar tools.
- Prepare comprehensive space planning, detailed working drawings, furniture layouts, ceiling plans, electrical layouts, and color schemes.
- Select and specify appropriate materials, finishes, furnishings, lighting, and décor that meet durability, sustainability, and safety standards.
- Strategically plan space for efficiency, accessibility, and user flow, considering ergonomics and infrastructure-specific functions.
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, MEPF consultants, HVAC specialists, and fire safety teams for integrated and coordinated design solutions.
- Ensure designs comply with local building codes, safety regulations, accessibility norms (e.g., ADA), fire protection standards, and project guidelines.
- Prepare detailed BOQs, technical specifications, and material schedules required for execution.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors for material selection, design mock-ups, and sample approvals.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor interior execution and civil finishing works to ensure design intent, quality standards, and timelines are met.
- Supervise on-site activities such as false ceiling installation, flooring, wall paneling, lighting, furniture installation, and finishing works.
- Identify and resolve any on-site issues or design deviations in collaboration with the project and execution teams.
- Maintain accurate records of material inspections, quality checks, contractor coordination, and design approvals.
- Monitor project budget and track design-related costs to ensure alignment with approved financial limits.
- Support in final handover processes, snag list resolutions, and post-completion design support if required.
- Stay updated with industry trends, sustainable design practices, new materials, and interior innovations relevant to infrastructure and public spaces.
