Job Overview
The Company is a leading MNC in the Tyre Recycling Industry, and they seeking a skilled and experienced Factory Head to lead daily plant operations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in manufacturing, maintenance, and process efficiency. This leadership role demands excellent problem-solving abilities, a focus on safety and sustainability, and a commitment to driving operational excellence in an eco-conscious environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the tyre recycling plant, including production, maintenance, quality, and safety.
- Manage production of crumb rubber, pyrolysis oil, and carbon black.
- Optimize recycling processes and production schedules for efficiency and minimal downtime.
- Ensure smooth functioning of all machinery and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime and improve plant reliability.
- Enforce strict safety protocols and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and drills.
- Maintain high product quality standards and implement contamination-reduction strategies.
- Drive sustainability through eco-friendly technologies, energy efficiency, and waste reduction.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S for continuous process improvement.
- Collaborate with R&D and technical teams for process and product enhancements.
- Analyze KPIs and market trends to support operational decisions and innovation.
- Develop and execute strategies aligned with business goals.
- Lead, train, and supervise a cross-functional team of supervisors, operators, and technicians.
- Handle workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, and employee development.
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability.
- Manage inventory of ELTs, recycled output, spare parts, and consumables.
- Coordinate with procurement for timely resource availability.
- Prepare and manage factory budgets; monitor costs and identify savings.
- Generate operational, maintenance, and financial reports for senior management.
- Liaise with global HQ, regulatory bodies, suppliers, and community stakeholders.
- Maintain strong vendor and client relationships.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure favorable business terms.
- Identify and mitigate operational and market risks.
Key Skills
- Strong knowledge of tyre recycling processes (e.g., shredding, pyrolysis, devulcanization).
- Proficiency in plant operations, machinery maintenance, and production protocols.
- Ability to plan, execute, and oversee projects such as plant upgrades and machinery installations.
- Skilled in production planning, scheduling, and output optimization.
- Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma for waste reduction and process efficiency.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in using ERP systems and production planning software.
- Familiarity with EHS regulations and ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, etc.).
- In-depth understanding of mechanical systems and recycling technologies.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient practices and power usage optimization.
- Experience in budgeting, cost control, and resource planning.
- Ability to handle emergencies like equipment breakdowns or production disruptions.
- Skilled in inventory and supply chain management (ELTs and finished goods).
- Strong leadership and team management skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to train, mentor, and retain workforce for operational excellence.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong vendor and supplier negotiation and relationship-building capabilities.
- Familiarity with environmental laws and sustainability practices in India.
- Competence in implementing quality control systems and reducing contamination.
- Business acumen in the circular economy and recycled tyre product markets.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Adaptable to evolving technologies, market trends, and regulatory requirements.
