Job Overview

The Construction Site Engineer will manage day-to-day site execution for high-rise residential and commercial building projects, ensuring work is carried out as per approved drawings, quality standards, safety norms, and project schedules. The role requires close coordination with project teams, consultants, and contractors to deliver structurally sound and premium-quality buildings through effective site supervision and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day construction activities for high-rise residential and commercial building projects.
• Execute work as per approved architectural, structural, and MEP drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Interpret complex drawings and ensure accurate site layout, setting out, and vertical alignment.
• Monitor structural works including formwork systems, reinforcement, concrete pouring, steel works, and RCC activities.
• Supervise masonry, plastering, waterproofing, façade, and high-end interior and exterior finishing works.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, structural consultants, MEP teams, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Ensure quality standards and workmanship meet premium construction benchmarks and consultant requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections, quality checks, and material testing to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
• Identify, record, and resolve construction snags and execution-related issues to minimize rework.
• Implement and enforce site safety protocols, especially for height work, scaffolding, cranes, and heavy equipment.
• Conduct safety briefings, site inspections, and ensure statutory and regulatory compliance.
• Track site progress and maintain daily progress reports, labor attendance, and material consumption records.
• Assist in project planning, scheduling, and monitoring timelines in coordination with the project management team.
• Support material planning, inventory control, and efficient utilization of site resources.
• Verify site measurements, quantities, and assist in contractor billing, BOQ review, and documentation.
• Monitor project costs and support budget control by minimizing wastage and suggesting cost-effective solutions.
• Implement sustainable construction practices including waste reduction, energy-efficient systems, water conservation, and green materials.
• Maintain accurate site documentation including logs, inspection reports, quality records, and compliance documents.
• Assist in resolving technical challenges related to high-rise construction, load-bearing elements, and structural coordination.
• Participate in project meetings, site reviews, consultant discussions, and client visits when required.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of civil, MEP, façade, and interior works.
• Stay updated on modern construction techniques, safety norms, sustainability standards, and industry best practices.

Key Skills

• Strong knowledge of high-rise residential and commercial building construction methodologies.
• Sound understanding of RCC, steel structures, vertical construction techniques, and load-bearing systems.
• Hands-on experience with advanced formwork systems such as Mivan, Doka, and jumping formwork.
• Proficiency in interpreting architectural, structural, MEP, shop, and façade drawings accurately.
• Ability to carry out precise site layout, setting-out, and vertical alignment using surveying instruments.
• Knowledge of construction materials, concrete technology, reinforcement detailing, and steel works.
• Expertise in masonry, waterproofing systems, façade installations, and high-end interior and exterior finishing works.
• Understanding of premium finishing standards suitable for luxury residential and commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction quality standards, QA/QC procedures, inspections, and snag management.
• Familiarity with material testing methods including concrete cube tests, steel tests, and quality verification.
• Awareness of Indian Standards, National Building Code, statutory regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Strong understanding of site safety practices, HSE norms, height safety, and risk assessment procedures.
• Ability to plan, monitor, and control site execution activities to meet timelines and quality benchmarks.
• Basic knowledge of project scheduling, progress tracking, and milestone monitoring.
• Competency in material planning, quantity take-offs, measurement verification, and BOQ support.
• Cost awareness with the ability to control wastage and support budget management.
• Experience in coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
• Leadership skills to manage site teams, labour, and subcontractors efficiently.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills for resolving on-site technical and execution challenges.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple site activities simultaneously.
• Good communication skills for coordination with project teams, consultants, and clients.
• Professional reporting skills for preparing DPRs, progress updates, and site documentation.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Office tools for reporting and documentation.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD for reviewing drawings and site layouts.
• Basic exposure to project management software such as MS Project or Primavera.
• Familiarity with BIM concepts and coordination tools is an added advantage.
• Understanding of sustainable construction practices, green building concepts, and LEED or IGBC guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in execution, measurements, and documentation.
• Good time management, organisation, and task prioritisation skills.
