They are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer with experience in Solar EPC projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the electrical design, installation supervision, and commissioning of solar PV systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. This role requires close coordination with civil and mechanical teams, project managers, vendors, and clients to deliver end-to-end project success.
- Design and review electrical layouts, SLDs, and cable schedules for rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects.
- Handle inverter integration, grid connectivity, and power evacuation systems.
- Supervise electrical installation at project sites including cable routing, earthing, LT/HT panel setup, and transformer connections.
- Conduct site surveys, load analysis, and feasibility studies.
- Ensure compliance with national/international codes like IEC, NEC, IS, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with internal teams for procurement of electrical components and vendor evaluation.
- Provide technical support during commissioning and O&M stages.
- Prepare and maintain documentation such as test reports, as-built drawings, and project reports.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in field installations.
- Liaise with DISCOMs and obtain necessary electrical approvals and net metering documentation.
- Develop comprehensive electrical system designs for solar PV plants, including grid-tied and hybrid systems.
- Prepare detailed Single Line Diagrams (SLD), layout drawings, earthing designs, and conduit/cable schedules.
- Select appropriate inverter technologies based on project needs and site conditions.
- Evaluate solar system configurations using software like AutoCAD, ETAP, and PVsyst.
- Coordinate the integration of in-house manufactured inverters into project designs.
- Assist R&D and product teams by providing field feedback on inverter performance and user experience.
- Customize inverter settings for optimal energy harvest, protection, and grid synchronization.
- Draft and maintain technical documentation such as equipment datasheets, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Ensure electrical designs comply with BIS, IEC, NEC, and DISCOM norms.
- Prepare documentation for approvals, net metering, CEIG clearances, and other regulatory requirements.
- Oversee execution of all electrical works at the project site including HT/LT cabling, switchgear installation, inverter placement, and transformer setups.
- Conduct pre-dispatch inspections of electrical components and coordinate logistics for timely delivery to sites.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure quality control as per project specifications.
- Lead electrical testing and commissioning of solar power systems including insulation resistance, continuity, polarity, and voltage drop testing.
- Perform load flow and fault level analysis during the commissioning stage.
- Ensure inverters are properly configured, tested, and operational before handover.
- Liaise with suppliers, OEMs, and utility officials to ensure smooth project implementation.
- Evaluate vendor products and technologies for suitability in ongoing and future projects.
- Coordinate with cross-functional EPC teams including civil and mechanical engineers.
- Support post-installation operation and maintenance activities including remote diagnostics and site visits.
- Analyze performance data and troubleshoot electrical faults in real time.
- Recommend preventive and corrective actions to minimize downtime and maximize output.
- Implement industry-standard safety procedures at all project stages.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety audits for electrical teams.
- Ensure all electrical work is carried out in accordance with national safety codes and company protocols.
- Strong understanding of electrical design and solar PV systems. (up to MW scale)
- Expertise in inverter technologies, SCADA systems, and power electronics.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, ETAP, PVsyst, and other design software.
- Familiarity with LT/HT systems, protection devices, and switchgear.
- Excellent project management and site supervision skills.

- Experience with inverter installation and commissioning is preferred.
- Proficiency in preparing SLDs, wiring schematics, cable layouts, and power distribution systems.
- Deep understanding of grid-tied, off-grid, and hybrid PV systems, including their operation and design parameters.
- Familiarity with string inverters, central inverters, hybrid inverters, and storage-integrated systems.
- Experience in configuring and commissioning inverters (especially if in-house manufactured).
- Knowledge of load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination analysis using software like ETAP or DIgSILENT.
- Understanding of SCADA systems, remote data acquisition, and system performance analytics.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, ETAP, MS Project, Excel, and other relevant tools.
- Knowledge of transformers, switchgear, RMUs, protection relays, and substation setup.
- Familiarity with BIS, IEC, IS, NEC, MNRE, DISCOM, and state-level grid connectivity guidelines.
- Ability to manage subcontractors, ensure quality control, and complete milestones as per the project schedule.
- Skilled in preparing and reviewing technical documentation, BOQs, RFQs, and quality inspection reports.
- Proficiency in conducting testing procedures such as megger testing, continuity, polarity, and commissioning protocols.
- Ability to analyze electrical faults, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions efficiently.
- Strong verbal and written communication for coordination with internal teams, clients, vendors, and government authorities.
- Practical, hands-on approach to diagnosing field-level issues and implementing timely solutions.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams (civil, mechanical, logistics, QA/QC).
- Strong planning and scheduling skills to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met.
