Job Overview
The Production Head will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the tyre recycling factory, ensuring optimal performance, quality control, safety compliance, and cost-efficiency. This role includes team supervision, maintenance coordination, and production planning.They are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Production Head to oversee and manage the manufacturing operations at the Mundra facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production management, especially in the recycling or manufacturing industry, with a focus on optimizing processes, ensuring safety standards, and achieving production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales forecasts and inventory requirements.
- Align production output with business goals and customer demand.
- Conduct time studies and analyze bottlenecks to improve production flow.
- Track OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and implement improvements.
- Control wastage of energy, materials, and manpower.
- Collaborate with Quality Control to maintain consistent product standards and implement corrective actions for defects.
- Define roles, assign responsibilities, and evaluate team performance.
- Promote a positive work environment and handle grievances effectively.
- Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance schedules are followed.
- Minimize machine downtime through effective breakdown analysis and resolution.
- Lead safety audits and risk assessments regularly.
- Drive a culture of zero accidents and continuous improvement in EHS (Environment, Health & Safety).
- Track usage of scrap tyres, fuel, water, chemicals, and other materials.
- Ensure efficient recovery of steel wire, crumb rubber, and carbon black or oil (for pyrolysis units).
- Maintain detailed shift-wise production logs, breakdown records, and process parameters.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
- Maintain optimum stock levels of raw materials and finished goods.
- Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) system for inventory management.
- Introduce automation or semi-automation to reduce labor dependency.
- Apply Kaizen, 5S, or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) methodologies.
- Work closely with procurement for raw material sourcing timelines.
- Coordinate with dispatch and logistics for timely delivery of output.
- Conduct on-the-job training for machine operators and supervisors.
- Foster multi-skilling and cross-functional training among team members.
- Oversee operation of shredders, granulators, pyrolysis units, and rubber refining machines.
- Stay updated with new recycling technologies and recommend upgrades.
- Ensure all legal norms for pollution control (e.g., CPCB/SPCB guidelines) are followed.
- Maintain documentation for audits and inspections from government agencies.
- Identify energy-saving opportunities in heating systems, compressors, and motors.
- Support initiatives for green manufacturing or carbon footprint reduction.
- Lead, guide, and mentor a team of production workers and supervisors.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide necessary training.
- Implement and maintain lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency.
- Identify bottlenecks in the production process and resolve them promptly.
- Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies.
- Monitor raw material inventory levels and coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment.
- Oversee the usage of resources to minimize waste and reduce costs.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports for management.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Key Skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of tyre recycling processes. (e.g., shredding, pyrolysis, granulation)
- Proficiency in production planning and plant operations.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Familiarity with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
- Computer skills. (MS Excel, ERP systems, Production Software)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.Proven experience in a production or manufacturing role, preferably in recycling or heavy industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using production management tools and software.
