Structural Engineer – WNSSE28072025

Job Overview
They are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Structural Engineer to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and ensuring the integrity of structures and providing technical consultation. This role will also involve collaboration with laboratory testing teams to verify structural performance, review field data, and offer sound engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for buildings, bridges, and infrastructure projects.
- Design foundations, superstructures, and connections as per IS and international codes.
- Conduct feasibility studies and conceptual structural designs.
- Calculate dead, live, wind, seismic, and other structural loads.
- Use STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, and AutoCAD for modeling and design.
- Review structural drawings and ensure coordination with architectural and MEP designs.
- Interpret material test results and correlate with design assumptions.
- Provide quality control recommendations based on lab test data.
- Supervise and witness on-site testing like NDT, load tests, and core cutting.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with structural drawings and specifications.
- Approve contractor’s materials, shop drawings, and documents.
- Investigate structural failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide consultancy and technical advice to clients, architects, and contractors.
- Prepare structural design reports, BOQs, and technical specifications.
- Support bid preparation and project proposals.
- Communicate with clients to understand requirements and provide updates.
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and managing structural design tasks.
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams for integrated project delivery.
- Ensure adherence to local building codes and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain detailed documentation of designs, tests, and inspections.
- Prepare progress and inspection reports as needed.
- Stay updated with the latest structural codes, tools, and best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing within the team.
Key Skills
- Structural analysis and design for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in structural design software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of BIM tools like Revit for integration with architectural models.
- Strong understanding of IS codes and building standards including IS 456, IS 800, IS 875, IS 1893, IS 1904, and related codes for concrete, steel, seismic, wind, and foundation design.
- Expertise in foundation and superstructure design including shallow, deep, and raft foundations.
- Accurate load calculation for dead, live, wind, seismic, water pressure, and machine loads.
- Material science knowledge with the ability to interpret test results for concrete, steel, and soil.
- Construction quality assurance and familiarity with site practices and formwork systems.
- Ability to conduct and supervise material tests such as NDT, core cutting, and load testing.
- BOQ preparation and technical documentation for structural components.
- Review and development of structural drawings, reinforcement details, and specifications.
- On-site inspection, supervision, and monitoring for structural compliance.
- Structural failure analysis and proposal of practical remedial solutions.
- Report writing and documentation for structural analysis, inspections, and client deliverables.
- Client coordination and communication to understand requirements and provide technical support.
- Interdisciplinary coordination with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on innovation and practicality.
- Project planning, time management, and task prioritization across multiple assignments.
- Attention to detail in calculations, drawings, and quality control processes.
- Team collaboration and mentoring of junior engineers or technical staff.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Familiarity with IS codes and building standards should be part of the educational background..
Experience
Minimum 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in structural design, analysis, and consultancy. Hands-on experience with structural engineering software like STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, and AutoCAD is essential. Prior involvement in infrastructure projects, site supervision, material testing interpretation, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams is highly desirable. Experience working in a civil engineering laboratory or consultancy firm will be an added advantage.
