Job Overview
- Set up, operate, and monitor VMC machines (3-Axis / 4-Axis / 5-Axis) for precision machining operations.
- Load and secure raw materials and workpieces accurately on the machine.
- Perform tool setting, offset adjustments, and fixture installation as per job requirements.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and job instructions.
- Execute and monitor CNC programs to ensure efficient machine performance and product accuracy.
- Possess proficient working knowledge of Fanuc controllers (mandatory for all roles).
- Handle Siemens controllers effectively (mandatory for 5-Axis, added advantage for 4-Axis).
- Ensure all machined parts meet dimensional accuracy and quality standards using precision instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and gauges.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections to verify component conformity to specifications.
- Identify and troubleshoot machining or programming issues to maintain smooth production flow.
- Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to improve machining efficiency, reduce downtime, and meet production targets.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure reliability and longevity.
- Maintain accurate production logs, inspection reports, and related documentation as per company standards.
- Follow all safety protocols, operational guidelines, and company policies diligently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Strong knowledge of VMC machine operations (3-Axis, 4-Axis, and 5-Axis).
- Proficiency in Fanuc controllers (mandatory for 3-Axis and 4-Axis).
- Working knowledge of Siemens controllers (mandatory for 5-Axis, added advantage for 4-Axis).
- Expertise in machine setup, tool setting, fixture alignment, and workpiece loading.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and CNC programs.
- Skilled in CNC programming fundamentals, including reading and editing G-code and M-code.
- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, cutting speeds, feed rates, and tool life management.
- Good knowledge of material properties (metals, alloys, and machining characteristics).
- Ability to troubleshoot machining issues, tool wear, and minor machine malfunctions to reduce downtime.
- Hands-on experience in routine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of machines.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to quality control.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Sound mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of electrical systems used in CNC operations.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with production and quality teams.
- Strong time management and ability to meet tight production deadlines.
- Consistent safety awareness and adherence to workplace safety standards and company protocols.
