
- Lead conceptual and detailed design of HVAC systems including chilled water, VRV/VRF, ventilation, clean-room, and specialized industrial applications.
- Perform complete heat load analysis, ESP calculations, duct and pipe sizing, hydraulic calculations, and system configuration.
- Select and size HVAC equipment such as chillers, boilers, AHUs, VAVs, pumps, cooling towers, and fans based on efficiency, lifecycle cost, and sustainability goals.
- Prepare and review Design Basis Reports (DBR) ensuring all assumptions comply with applicable codes and standards.
- Develop, review, and finalize HVAC drawings including tender, shop, IFC, and as-built drawings along with BOQs and material specifications.
- Review technical submittals, vendor selections, equipment data sheets, and ensure compliance with ASHRAE, ISHRAE, SMACNA, NBC, ECBC, NFPA, and local statutory norms.
- Conduct energy modeling, life-cycle cost analysis, and value engineering to optimize system performance without compromising quality.
- Ensure full MEP coordination with electrical, plumbing, firefighting, IBMS, architectural, and structural teams, avoiding design clashes through BIM collaboration.
- Lead design reviews, QA/QC checks, and verify calculation sheets, drawings, and documentation prepared by junior engineers.
- Attend client and consultant meetings, represent the HVAC discipline, and address RFIs, site queries, and coordination issues.
- Provide technical support during construction including site visits, inspections, installation guidance, testing, and commissioning assistance.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, ensuring technical accuracy and adherence to best design practices.
- Support project managers in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery aligned with sustainable building objectives.
- Utilize and coordinate through software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP/TRACE, BIM platforms, and MS Office for accurate design and documentation.
- Advanced expertise in HVAC system design including chilled water, VRF/VRV, DX systems, central plants, clean rooms, data centers, and industrial applications.
- Strong proficiency in heat load calculations, psychrometrics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, ESP calculations, and system optimization.
- Expertise in equipment selection and sizing for chillers, boilers, AHUs, VAVs, pumps, cooling towers, and ventilation systems with focus on IEER, COP, IPLV, and lifecycle cost analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of ducting, piping, hydronic systems, airflow distribution, hydraulic calculations, and pressure drop optimization.
- Thorough understanding of ASHRAE, ISHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, NBC, ECBC, and other relevant local and international codes and energy standards.
- Strong capability in energy modeling, sustainability strategies, and green building certifications such as LEED, IGBC, GRIHA, or WELL.
- Proficiency in HVAC and BIM software including AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, HAP, TRACE, IES VE, DesignBuilder, EnergyPlus, and MS Office.
- Experience in BOQ preparation, technical specifications, cost estimation, and value engineering.
- Strong MEP coordination skills with expertise in interdisciplinary integration and BIM clash detection.
- Ability to conduct design reviews, QA/QC checks, and ensure technical accuracy and buildability.
- Strong site support capability including inspections, commissioning assistance, troubleshooting, and as-built verification.
- Excellent project management skills with ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and manage budgets effectively.
- Strong leadership and mentorship capability to guide, cross-check, and develop junior engineers.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and client management skills.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving attitude.
- Awareness of smart building technologies, BMS integration, IoT-enabled systems, and decarbonization trends.
- High level of accountability for quality, accuracy, and timely completion of deliverables.
- Flexible approach with willingness to take ownership of all assigned HVAC design and coordination responsibilities.
