Job Overview
- Oversee daily store operations and maintain accurate stock levels of raw materials, consumables, tools, components, and finished goods.
- Oversee receipt, verification, storage, and issuance of all raw materials (MS/CR sheets, GP coils, plastics, resins, paints, liners, coatings, fittings, packaging materials, etc.) and finished barrels/drums.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for all inward, outward, and internal transactions using ERP/WMS.
- Conduct daily/weekly cycle counts, stock audits, and physical verification to achieve and maintain 99%+ inventory accuracy.
- Ensure systematic, safe, and compliant storage using proper racking, labelling, tagging, binning, FIFO/FEFO, and material identification practices.
- Implement correct handling and storage of hazardous chemicals, coatings, paints, solvents, and materials as per PESO and factory safety rules.
- Supervise loading/unloading of trucks and ensure proper material handling using forklifts, cranes, pallet trucks, and other equipment.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Planning, Purchase, QC, Dispatch, Logistics, and Sales teams for smooth material flow and timely availability.
- Issue raw materials and components to production strictly as per BOM and daily production plan.
- Track material consumption patterns and ensure uninterrupted supply to avoid production delays.
- Manage inventory of tools, equipment, spares, and consumables used in the manufacturing of barrels and drums.
- Track, record, and control scrap, rejects, non-conforming, and surplus materials, coordinating with QC for segregation and disposal.
- Prepare and maintain GRN, Material Issue Slips, Stock Transfer Notes, Challans, MRR, GIN, and all related documentation.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports including stock status, valuation, slow-moving items, consumption trends, and variance analysis.
- Verify supplier documents (invoices, challans, test certificates, e-way bills) and report discrepancies immediately.
- Coordinate with transporters, vendors, and purchase teams to ensure timely inbound and outbound logistics.
- Maintain 5S, housekeeping, hygiene, and strict safety compliance in the store and warehouse area.
- Ensure proper preservation of materials to avoid rust, contamination, deformation, moisture damage, or quality deterioration.
- Optimize warehouse layout, storage space utilization, and material movement routes for better efficiency and cost control.
- Minimize material wastage, pilferage, expiry, and damage through strong loss-prevention practices.
- Supervise and lead the store workforce (storekeepers, loaders, forklift operators, helpers), allocate daily tasks, and monitor performance.
- Train team members on SOPs, safety rules, inventory systems, and equipment handling.
- Participate actively in Kaizen, lean manufacturing, ISO audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in budgeting by providing accurate inventory data and annual consumption patterns.
- Support timely dispatch of finished barrels/drums as per customer requirements, ensuring correct specifications, quantities, and documentation.
- Maintain complete traceability of raw materials and finished goods for quality assurance and audit readiness.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and audit standards.
- Strong knowledge of store management, warehouse operations, and industrial material handling processes.
- Expertise in inventory control, cycle counting, stock accuracy management, and reconciliation.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/WMS/MRP systems and advanced MS Excel for reporting and MIS preparation.
- Good understanding of raw materials used in barrel and drum manufacturing such as MS/CR sheets, GP coils, resins, coatings, and fittings.
- Strong knowledge of FIFO/FEFO, batch traceability, and inventory documentation requirements.
- Ability to read and understand BOMs, GRNs, challans, dispatch documents, and material specifications.
- Familiarity with hazardous material storage, PPE usage, and compliance with warehouse safety standards and PESO guidelines.
- Proficiency in supervising loading and unloading activities using forklifts, cranes, pallet trucks, and other material-handling equipment.
- Strong coordination skills to work effectively with Production, Purchase, QC, Dispatch, Logistics, and Sales teams.
- Strong leadership skills to manage, train, and motivate storekeepers, helpers, and equipment operators.
- Ability to maintain 5S, housekeeping, and overall safety discipline within the store and warehouse area.
- Strong analytical skills for tracking material consumption, identifying variances, and preparing inventory-related reports.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to manage shortages, material delays, discrepancies, and workflow issues.
- Good communication skills for documentation, reporting, team interaction, and vendor coordination.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Knowledge of cost control practices related to inventory holding, storage optimization, wastage reduction, and loss prevention.
- Ability to ensure quality compliance, support audit requirements, and maintain accurate traceability records.
- Quick decision-making ability in material allotment, dispatch planning, manpower allocation, and daily store operations.
- Knowledge of warehouse layout optimization, racking systems, and efficient space utilization.
- Attention to detail for accurate counting, verification, and correct issuance of materials.
- Understanding of basic quality control checks for incoming raw materials and outgoing finished barrels/drums.
