- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with production schedules, business goals, and quality requirements.
- Plan and execute procurement of raw materials, alloys, scrap, consumables, spares, tooling, and services for foundry and engineering cast components.
- Source, evaluate, audit, onboard, and develop reliable domestic and international suppliers to ensure consistent quality, competitive pricing, and timely delivery.
- Negotiate prices, contracts, payment terms, and long-term agreements to achieve cost optimization without compromising quality or safety standards.
- Manage end-to-end purchasing operations including purchase order processing, order tracking, and timely material availability as per production plans.
- Ensure all procured materials comply with Indian and international standards (IS, ASTM, DIN, EN) and company quality systems (ISO, IATF, RDSO, etc.).
- Coordinate closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Stores, and Finance teams to align procurement with manufacturing, inspection, and financial requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance through audits, KPIs, and reviews; resolve quality issues, NCRs, rejections, returns, and debit notes.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels using forecasting, Min-Max, and JIT principles to avoid shortages, excess stock, and production downtime.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through vendor development, alternative sourcing, bulk buying, value engineering, and total cost of ownership analysis.
- Track market trends, metal price fluctuations, and supply risks; develop contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Manage procurement budgets, analyze costs, and ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, MIS reports, certifications, and documentation for audits and statutory compliance.
- Lead, supervise, and train the purchasing team; improve procurement processes, ERP usage, and e-procurement systems.
- Support new material development, sustainability initiatives, ethical sourcing practices, and CAPEX procurement for machinery and equipment.
- Strategic sourcing and procurement planning aligned with production and business goals.
- Expert-level negotiation skills for pricing, contracts, payment terms, delivery schedules, and long-term agreements.
- Strong vendor identification, evaluation, onboarding, development, and supplier relationship management (SRM).
- In-depth technical knowledge of foundry raw materials, scrap, pig iron, ferroalloys, consumables, refractories, spares, tooling, and engineering items.
- Clear understanding of foundry and manufacturing processes including melting, molding, heat treatment, and machining.
- Knowledge of Indian and international quality standards and certifications (IS, ASTM, DIN, EN, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, RDSO).
- Quality assurance and supplier audit capabilities, including NCR handling and rejection management.
- Cost optimization, budgeting, cost breakdown analysis, and total cost of ownership (TCO) evaluation.
- Inventory management, demand forecasting, Min-Max control, ABC/VED analysis, EOQ, and JIT principles.
- Market intelligence and analytical skills to track metal price trends, commodity indices, and sourcing opportunities.
- Supply chain and risk management, including contingency planning and supply continuity assurance.
- ERP and procurement system proficiency (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally or similar).
- Advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, spend tracking, and vendor performance monitoring.
- Contract and commercial management, including AMCs, price variation clauses, and compliance requirements.
- Cross-functional collaboration with Production, Quality, Engineering, Stores, and Finance teams.

Any Diploma / BE / BTech / ME / MTech in Mechanical Engineering / Metallurgical Engineering / Production Engineering / Relevant Engineering discipline can apply for this. MBA in Supply Chain Management / Materials Management / Operations Management / Procurement will be added on. Additional certifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Materials Management will be an advantage. Priority will be given to candidates with strong Purchasing Knowledge of the Foundry and Metal Casting Industry, along with knowledge related to Automobile Engineering, Railway Engineering, General Engineering, Agriculture Equipment, Heavy Engineering, Industrial Machinery, Defense and Aerospace, Manufacturing and Fabrication, and Material Processing.
