Job Overview
Company is looking for a skilled Solidworks Design Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and designs to support our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate is proficient in SolidWorks and has a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, enabling them to contribute to innovative and efficient product designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Use SolidWorks to create accurate 3D models and assemblies of machinery components.
- Develop technical drawings and specifications to support the manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and refine products, ensuring optimal functionality and efficiency.
- Participate in the development of prototypes, testing, and design validation.
- Maintain organized documentation of all designs, including technical specifications, bills of materials, and design change records.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for design reviews, presenting insights and improvements.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure designs are feasible, manufacturable, and meet quality standards.
- Provide technical support during the manufacturing and assembly stages.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and company quality protocols.
- Identify potential design improvements to enhance performance and durability.
- Mechanical designing and drawing experience.
- Preparation of drawing, Flow sheet/ Equipment layout/ piping layout/ isometric and should have the knowledge about mechanical design.
- Study plans for the upcoming generation of new models, and develop strategies for improving upon current models.
- Design products using CAD, and consult with engineering and manufacturing teammates to ensure that designs are feasible.
- Develop and build prototypes and run tests to measure their level of function.
- Record and evaluate testing data, altering designs as necessary to bring them to safety, performance and efficiency standards.
- Consult with fabrication teams during product manufacturing, advising them on design specifications and providing physical assistance when required.
- Research competitor products quarterly and collaborate with the product development team to generate ideas for making our products the best ones on the market.
- Calculate cost estimates for final product designs, and release reports to supervisors, incorporating costs of labour, material, delivery and overhead.
- Attend weekly team meetings to provide progress reports, obtain updates on colleagues’ progress, strategize on steps for the following week and acquire information about projected emerging product lines.
- Good Knowledge of Solidworks, AutoCAD 2D, 3D Design Drafting of Engineering Drawing Mechanical Coordination.
Key Skills
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and experience with CAD software.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and communicate technical ideas effectively.
- Prior experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
- Mechanical Engineering, Plant Layout, Manufacturing Layout, Unit Layout, Plant Drawing, Works Layout.
- Should have proper knowledge of Machine, Part and Tool Design.
- Has worked in Machine Designing & Body Designing.
- Worked on SolidWorks Software, Auto Cad 2D / 3D.
