Job Overview
The Import-Export Executive will manage the entire spectrum of import-export operations for raw materials, machinery, and finished PVC pipe products. The role includes ensuring compliance with trade regulations, optimizing logistics, and maintaining high standards of operational efficiency.process.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with global suppliers to manage the import of PVC resin, additives, and manufacturing equipment.
- Prepare and verify import documentation such as Bills of Lading, Packing Lists, and Commercial Invoices.
- Ensure smooth customs clearance while adhering to international trade and customs regulations.
- Handle export processes for PVC pipes and fittings to international clients.
- Prepare export documentation, including Letters of Credit, Certificates of Origin, and Proforma Invoices.
- Collaborate with logistics providers to ensure timely delivery and cost optimization.
- Stay updated on policies affecting the import-export of PVC products, including duties, tariffs, and GST regulations.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards for PVC products in global markets.
- Oversee shipment tracking to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Resolve shipment-related issues such as delays, damages, or shortages.
- Maintain strong relationships with international suppliers, freight forwarders, and clearing agents.
- Address and resolve any disputes or discrepancies in trade documentation or shipments.
- Keep accurate records of import-export transactions.
- Analyze trade data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Research and onboard reliable suppliers for PVC raw materials like resin and additives.
- Coordinate with suppliers for shipment schedules, order confirmations, and delivery timelines.
- Monitor international trade restrictions and tariff updates to optimize procurement costs.
- Develop and maintain export strategies for PVC pipes in emerging markets.
- Liaise with international clients to understand their requirements and ensure satisfaction.
- Manage third-party inspection processes to meet global quality standards.
- Maintain records of Importer Exporter Code (IEC) updates and renewals.
- Ensure adherence to anti-dumping duties, if applicable, in specific markets.
- Verify compliance with international standards like ASTM and ISO for exported PVC products.
- Plan and implement cost-efficient transportation methods, including multimodal logistics.
- Conduct regular reviews of freight service providers to ensure best pricing and service.
- Track shipments using logistics software and proactively resolve delays.
- Prepare accurate costing sheets for imports and exports, including freight and duties.
- Manage documentation for government incentives such as Duty Drawback Scheme or MEIS/SEIS.
- Oversee compliance with bank requirements for payment through Letters of Credit.
- Analyze geopolitical risks and currency fluctuations affecting trade.
- Secure cargo insurance and handle claims for any damages or losses.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with trade credit for international clients.
- Negotiate competitive freight rates and contracts with shipping lines and agents.
- Conduct periodic reviews and audits of vendor performance.
- Collaborate with the production team to align export schedules with manufacturing outputs.
- Monitor global market trends for PVC products to identify growth opportunities.
- Develop export marketing plans to expand the company’s footprint in new regions.
- Analyze past import-export performance and recommend strategies for improvement.
