The Chartered Accountant will be responsible for managing the Company’s financial planning, accounting, taxation, and compliance activities within a large-scale food processing and export environment. The role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, cost control, audit coordination, and supporting management with financial analysis to drive operational efficiency and business growth in domestic and international markets.
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate maintenance of books of accounts.
- Prepare and finalise monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements.
- Ensure compliance with Ind AS / applicable accounting standards.
- Handle complete responsibility for direct and indirect taxation, including Income Tax, TDS, and GST compliances.
- Prepare and file all statutory returns and ensure timely payment of statutory dues such as GST, TDS, PF, ESI, and PT.
- Handle tax assessments, notices, appeals, and litigations independently.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors, tax auditors, cost auditors, and internal auditors and ensure timely audit closures.
- Monitor and strengthen internal financial controls and support SOP documentation across finance functions.
- Manage product costing for manufacturing operations, including standard costing and detailed variance analysis of material, labour, and overheads.
- Prepare periodic cost sheets and conduct margin analysis on a product-wise, customer-wise, and channel-wise basis.
- Support pricing decisions for domestic and export customers based on cost and profitability analysis.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and conduct Budget vs Actual variance analysis.
- Develop and present detailed MIS reports and financial dashboards for top management decision-making.
- Manage working capital, cash flow planning, fund utilisation, and interest cost optimisation.
- Handle banking and treasury operations, including term loans, working capital limits, LC, packing credit, and PCFC.
- Liaise with banks for sanctions, renewals, and regular financial operations.
- Manage complete accounting and documentation of export transactions.
- Handle export incentives and schemes such as Advance Authorisation, EPCG, Duty Drawback, RoDTEP, and RoSCTL.
- Monitor foreign exchange realisation and ensure compliance with FEMA and RBI guidelines.
- Manage forex transactions and coordinate related bank documentation.
- Oversee ERP-based accounting processes and support ERP implementation or system improvements.
- Conduct financial analysis, risk assessment, and provide mitigation strategies related to sourcing, production, and exports.
- Support management with strategic financial inputs for cost optimisation, expansion planning, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with auditors, banks, vendors, government authorities, and internal stakeholders on all finance-related matters.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Ind AS / IFRS.
- Expertise in direct and indirect taxation, including Income Tax, GST, TDS, and customs-related compliances.
- Hands-on experience in handling tax assessments, notices, appeals, and litigations.
- Advanced product costing and cost management skills in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong command over standard costing, process costing, BOM, and variance analysis.
- In-depth understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Experience in export accounting, documentation, and government export incentive schemes.
- Strong knowledge of FEMA, RBI guidelines, EDPMS, and foreign exchange realisation.
- Ability to manage forex exposure and basic hedging mechanisms for export margins.
- Proficiency in working capital management, cash flow planning, and treasury operations.
- Strong banking coordination skills, including term loans, working capital limits, LCs, packing credit, and PCFC.
- Experience in statutory audit, tax audit, cost audit, and internal audit coordination.
- Ability to design, implement, and monitor internal financial controls and SOPs.
- Strong MIS preparation skills with meaningful financial and operational analysis.
- Advanced financial analysis skills including margin analysis, break-even analysis, and profitability reporting.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, ERPNext, or similar manufacturing ERPs.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial models.
- Familiarity with GST, Income Tax, ICEGATE, and other statutory portals.
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting, valuation, and control in high-volume environments.
- Ability to manage seasonal and agri-linked business cash flow cycles.
- Knowledge of compliance impact related to food processing regulations and certifications.
- Strong risk identification and financial risk mitigation capabilities.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and compliance orientation.
- Ability to work independently and take complete ownership of finance and accounts functions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with auditors, banks, and authorities.
- Business partnering mindset with the ability to support strategic and operational decisions.
