Solidworks Design Engineer – WNDSDE06062025

Job Overview
They are seeking a talented and detail-oriented SolidWorks Designer to join design and engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in 3D modeling, detailing, and drafting using SolidWorks, particularly in the field of industrial machinery design. You will be responsible for creating and modifying complex assemblies, part drawings, and BOMs for production and R&D purposes.
Key Responsibilities
- Create accurate 3D models and detailed engineering drawings of air compressors, PSA gas generators, and related components using SolidWorks.
- Design individual components, sub-assemblies, and complete systems ensuring fit, form, and function.
- Generate 2D manufacturing drawings with GD&T, material specifications, finishes, and tolerances.
- Develop and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs), fabrication drawings, and assembly instructions.
- Utilize advanced SolidWorks tools: sheet metal, surfacing, weldments, and simulation (stress analysis, motion studies).
- Modify and optimize existing designs to improve performance, manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and durability.
- Conduct tolerance stack-ups, interference checks, and design validations to ensure assembly accuracy.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, procurement, quality control, and sales teams for design integration and feasibility.
- Participate in design reviews, provide feedback, and implement required revisions.
- Assist in prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs (both virtual and physical).
- Provide technical support during manufacturing and assembly stages.
- Maintain organized design documentation, ensuring version control and traceability in compliance with ISO 9001:2015.
- Follow proper procedures for Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and documentation control.
- Prepare and present technical reports for design reviews and management meetings.
- Study competitor products and contribute to product improvement strategies.
- Support software setup and configuration (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and basic technical troubleshooting (e.g., laptop display issues).
- Estimate and report design costs (labor, materials, delivery, overhead) to supervisors.
- Attend weekly team meetings to report progress, align goals, and plan for upcoming design activities.
Key Skills
- Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks: 3D modeling, 2D drafting, assemblies, surfacing, sheet metal, and weldments.
- Skilled in AutoCAD 2D/3D for creating and editing engineering drawings.
- Proficient in creating detailed technical drawings with proper dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T standards.
- Strong grasp of mechanical engineering fundamentals: statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, and kinematics.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes: machining, welding, casting, forming, injection molding.
- Good understanding of material properties (metals, plastics, composites) for application-based selection.
- Experience with SolidWorks Simulation (FEA, motion studies) for design validation.
- Familiar with CAD/CAM integration and how CAD models interact with manufacturing tools.
- Proficient in managing product variations using configurations and design tables in SolidWorks.
- Hands-on experience with SolidWorks PDM/PLM systems for version control and workflow management.
- Knowledge of machine design, part design, tool design, and mechanical body designing.
- Experience in creating plant layout, manufacturing layout, unit layout, and works layout.
- Strong documentation skills for BOMs, flow sheets, equipment layouts, and isometric drawings.
- Thorough knowledge of engineering change processes and ISO-compliant documentation practices.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System for design and development controls.
- Skilled in maintaining accurate design records for audits and traceability.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to overcome design and manufacturing challenges.
- Ability to perform tolerance stack-ups, interference checks, and design improvements.
- Capable of applying value engineering and cost optimization in product development.
- Effective communicator for cross-functional collaboration with R&D, QC, production, sales, and procurement.
- Able to explain design concepts, revisions, and updates clearly in both written and verbal formats.
- Highly organized with strong time management and multitasking abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in all design-related tasks.
- Positive attitude with a mindset for continuous improvement and learning.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues like laptop screen problems or software installations.
- SolidWorks certifications (CSWA, CSWP) are an added advantage.
- Prior experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.

₹20000/- to ₹50000/- pm (Best in the Industry for Qualified Candidate)

Education
Only candidates with ITI / Diploma / BE / ME / Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering with knowledge of SolidWorks and other related Design Software can apply for this position.
Experience
Minimum 1 to 4 years of experience as a Design Engineer / AutoCAD Engineer / SolidWorks Design Engineer in Machinery Product Designing can apply.
