Job Overview
- Maintain day-to-day accounting records including journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations.
- Accurately record and enter financial transactions in accounting software (Tally/ERP).
- Prepare and issue client invoices, contractor bills, credit notes, and payment receipts as per project agreements.
- Process vendor and subcontractor invoices, verify against purchase orders and completed work.
- Schedule and process payments to vendors and subcontractors.
- Resolve billing discrepancies with vendors and subcontractors.
- Maintain updated vendor files, tax documents, and compliance records.
- Raise invoices to clients based on project milestones or progress billing.
- Track client payments, follow up on overdue accounts, and record deposits.
- Maintain client-wise revenue, credit limits, and aging reports.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and ensure ledger balances match with bank statements.
- Prepare and post journal entries for payroll, depreciation, accruals, and adjustments.
- Allocate expenses to correct project and cost codes.
- Monitor daily project expenses and compare budget vs. actuals.
- Track profitability of each residential and commercial construction project.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial closing of accounts.
- Prepare and submit GST, TDS, PF, ESI, and Income Tax returns within deadlines.
- Manage petty cash, site-level cash flow, vendor advances, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
- Generate MIS reports on cash flow, project cost analysis, and financial performance for management.
- Support payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting and provide variance analysis.
- Coordinate with auditors, banks, tax consultants, and statutory authorities.
- Manage fixed assets including machinery and equipment with proper records and depreciation schedules.
- Ensure timely progress billing and handle lien management for client payments.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing systems for all financial and client-related records.
- Collaborate with internal teams for smooth financial workflow.
- Provide financial insights to support management decisions, cost control, and risk management.
- Ensure financial discipline, accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with regulations.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, Indian Accounting Standards, and construction-specific financial practices.
- Proficiency in Tally ERP, MS Excel, and accounting/financial software including financial modeling tools.
- Expertise in bookkeeping, ledger maintenance, and accurate journal entry posting.
- Hands-on experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable management.
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, PF, ESI, Income Tax, and other statutory compliances.
- Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
- Proficiency in project costing, job costing, and progress billing with construction-specific knowledge.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and variance analysis.
- Strong skills in bank reconciliation, audit preparation, and documentation.
- Familiarity with fixed asset management, depreciation schedules, and equipment cost tracking.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, revenue recognition, lien management, and retainage handling.
- Ability to prepare MIS reports, WIP schedules, cash flow projections, and financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of project-wise cost tracking, profitability analysis, and cost control.
- Knowledge of tax compliance related to construction materials, payroll, and long-term contracts.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and construction management tools like SAP, NetSuite, Procore, and Viewpoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities to resolve discrepancies and provide insights.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and data confidentiality in financial reporting.
- Effective communication skills to explain financial data to project managers, engineers, and senior leadership.
- Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with vendors, clients, banks, and auditors.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills for handling financial terms, credit limits, and payment agreements.
