
Job Overview
As a Computer Operator, you will play a vital role in managing and maintaining the company’s digital records, supporting smooth project documentation, and ensuring the effective use of computer systems. You will work closely with project teams, accounts, and administration to ensure accurate data handling and efficient operations.
- Operate and maintain computer systems for data entry, record-keeping, and reporting.
- Input, update, and manage project-related data, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, material inventories, labor hours, and financial records.
- Prepare, update, and manage construction project documents, invoices, purchase orders, client records, contracts, and correspondence.
- Support engineers, architects, and site supervisors with documentation, digital records, drawings, and blueprints.
- Maintain and update databases of projects, clients, contractors, material procurement, and company operations while ensuring data integrity and security.
- Perform regular data backups and develop procedures for data recovery to ensure data safety.
- Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports on project progress, resource utilization, expenses, and operational performance.
- Manage and organize digital files and documents, including architectural drawings, project specifications, tenders, and quotations.
- Operate and maintain office equipment such as printers, scanners, and plotters for large-scale construction drawings.
- Provide technical support for office and site staff, resolving common software, hardware, and network-related issues.
- Monitor and maintain computer systems, software applications, and networks to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operation.
- Run scheduled reports from project management and accounting software.
- Assist in the setup of new computers, peripherals, and user accounts, while managing access permissions.
- Maintain logs of all system activities, troubleshooting, and resolutions.
- Track and manage IT assets (hardware, software, and peripherals), ensuring proper utilization and maintenance.
- Implement and enforce IT security measures to protect sensitive company and client data.
- Coordinate with project management, finance, and site teams to ensure data accuracy and timely reporting.
- Provide assistance in document formatting, presentations, and spreadsheets for management.
- Ensure confidentiality in handling contracts, client information, and financial transactions.
- Computer & Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Accounting Software: Familiarity with Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, and ERP systems for billing, purchase orders, and project accounting.
- Construction-Specific Software: Exposure to project management tools (Procore, BuilderTREND, MS Project, Asana, Trello) and CAD/BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit).
- Database Management: Strong understanding of database systems, data entry, backup, file management, and ensuring data integrity.
- Operating Systems: Proficiency in Windows OS; basic knowledge of Linux/macOS.
- Networking Basics: Understanding of LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi technologies with ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Hardware & Peripherals: Operation and troubleshooting of office equipment such as printers, scanners, plotters, and network devices.
- System Maintenance: Knowledge of IT asset tracking, system performance monitoring, and preventive maintenance.
- Data Security & Confidentiality: Awareness of IT security best practices, protocols, and safe handling of sensitive company/client data.
- Reporting Skills: Ability to generate and analyze MIS reports, project documentation, and performance metrics.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy in data entry, proofreading, and report generation.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting ability for technical/software issues.
- Time Management: Skilled at prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication for coordination with staff, management, and external stakeholders.
- Teamwork & Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with engineering, finance, IT, and site teams.
