
- Dynamic and experienced individual to lead the establishment and profitable operation of our new tyre recycling plant.
- As the Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the plant's development, from initial setup to full-scale operation, with a primary focus on ensuring sustainability, efficiency, and profitability.
- Your work will guide strategic decision-making and help us maintain a competitive edge in the Tyre Recycling Industry.
- Lead the planning and execution of the establishment of the new tyre recycling plant.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure timely and cost-effective setup.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to environmental protection, waste management, and workplace safety.
- Obtain necessary permits and licenses for the operation of the recycling plant.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including sorting, shredding, and processing of tyres into reusable materials.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track plant performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Establish quality control measures to ensure the production of high-quality recycled materials.
- Implement testing protocols to verify the integrity and durability of recycled tyre products.
- Manage the procurement of raw materials (i.e., discarded tyres) from various sources.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure a steady and reliable supply of tyres for recycling.
- Develop sales strategies to market recycled tyre products to potential customers, including manufacturers and construction companies.
- Identify new market opportunities and cultivate business partnerships to expand the plant's customer base.
- Develop and manage the plant's budget, including forecasting revenue and expenses.
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost-saving measures to ensure profitability.
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of plant staff, including operators, technicians, and administrative personnel.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement among plant employees.
- Supervising the manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner.
- Liaising with other engineers to develop plans that improve production, costs, and labour required.
- Diagnosing problems in the production line and providing recommendations and training.
- Establishing safety procedures and protocols that take the workers' well-being into account, and that also minimise the carbon footprint.
- Keeping abreast of advancements in engineering and production, and sharing knowledge with co-workers.
- Identifying, documenting, and reporting unsafe practices.
- Drawing up production schedules and budgets for projects.
- Scheduling meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders.
- Analysing all facets of production and making recommendations for improvement.
- Obtaining any materials and equipment required.
- Provide day-to-day technical and engineering support to the operating areas.
- Assist in planning, design, installation, and maintenance of machinery and equipment in the operating areas.
- Technical support and troubleshooting of production issues related to equipment, processes, quality, controls, and systems.
- Develop and facilitate training for operations groups such as with operating procedures, safety/environmental protocol, new/revised processes, and equipment.
- Support planning and directing production scheduling and maintenance activities as needed as well as maintain these activities within budget.
- Lead development and design of equipment and processes to support safety/environmental compliance, customer needs, new product introduction, and efficient manufacturing.
- Make recommendations for and provide technical support of facility capital expenditures in support of site strategy.
- Attend plant reviews, sales, and operations meetings and make presentations as needed.
- Participate in plant committees in support of safety, environmental, organizational, quality, and manufacturing objectives.

- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans to achieve business objectives.
- Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and cost control.
- Experience in Tyre / Rubber Recycling Production is highly desirable.
