Job Overview
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the complete logistics and supply chain operations for the import and export of electronic goods. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing strategies to ensure efficient, cost-effective movement of goods while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, with experience in handling electronics or high-value goods, a sharp eye for process optimization, and a passion for operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the storage and distribution of electronic goods, ensuring adequate stock levels to meet sales demands without overstocking.
- Monitor and track inventory levels, using digital tools to maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Manage import and export processes, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with international trade laws and regulations.
- Handle necessary documentation, customs clearance, and inspections for all shipments.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, shipping companies, and freight forwarders to ensure efficient logistics operations.
- Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers to optimize transportation costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Supervise warehouse staff and oversee the organization of goods within the warehouse to maximize efficiency.
- Implement safety and quality protocols to ensure the proper handling and storage of electronic products.
- Continuously evaluate and improve logistics processes to reduce costs, minimize delivery times, and enhance service quality.
- Implement automation and technology tools for streamlined operations, such as barcode scanning and inventory management software.
- Lead and train logistics and warehouse staff, providing guidance on best practices, safety, and compliance.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment focused on achieving logistics goals.
- Ensure all logistics processes comply with local and international regulations for electronic goods.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks related to shipment delays, damages, or compliance issues.
Key Skills
- Strong understanding of logistics and inventory management software, such as ERP or WMS systems.
- Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, customs procedures, and international trade compliance.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and logistics tools (e.g., ERP systems, warehouse management systems).
- Excellent negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Familiarity with logistics documentation and procedures.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating across teams and with external partners.
- Import and Export Customs Checklist Preparation.
- ODEX Knowledge.
- Client Coordination.
- Basic Knowledge of Customs Notifications and rules.
- Strong knowledge of Indian customs procedures, shipping documentation, and regulations.
- Familiarity with software such as ICEGATE, DGFT, and other customs clearance platforms.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certification in Import/Export Management or International Trade.
- Prior experience working with Customs Brokers/CHAs, logistics companies, or freight forwarders.
Salary
₹40000/- to ₹70000/- pm (Best in the Industry for Qualified Candidate)
